2010 is a critical year for the State of Michigan. This will determine the next 10 years due to the role it will play in the redistricting process. The time is now!

Republican Majority Leader Mike Bishop has stated that it is time to cut necessities such as funding for the Michigan Promise Scholarship, local revenue sharing, health care and the environment.  For too long the Republicans in the State Senate have been obstructionists to great ideas and sustained the influence of special interests.

Please attend our organizational meeting and see what you and/or

your organization can do to help retake the State Senate and get Aaron elected!

If you plan on attending this meeting, please RSVP to Justin Johnson, Senate Regional Organizer, jjohnson@senatedems.org or (517) 575-5240

Saturday, March 13, 10 a.m., County Commissioner Tim Burns hosts a Panel on …Dollars and Sense!

The 2010 Oakland County Consumer Protection Forum will feature a panel of financial experts who will provide “Dollars & Sense” advice on managing money and debt issues and will answer questions from the audience.

The location is the Barry Center Auditorium at Walsh College, 3838 Livernois Road.

Panelists include Murray Feldman (News Anchor & Financial Reporter with television station WJBK FOX 2), Jane McNamara (President & CEO of GreenPath Debt Solutions),  Brian J. O’Connor (Personal Finance Editor & Columnist for the Detroit News), and  Brian Roehl (Senior Financial Advisor with LJPR, LLC).  County Commissioner Tim Burns will moderate the forum.

NEWSPAPER COMMUNICATION

¨     Submit Letters to the Editor & Response to Letters  If you get a letter published, please let us know ASAP so we can add comments on line to support you!  Oakland Press & the Royal Oak Tribune have an anonymous on line comment process.  Each of the newspapers has their own protocol for official letters to the editor.  They generally expect name and address to be included & want the letters limited to 250-300 words.
